Khandbari : Some of the locals of Sankhuwasabha district, who had migrated to city and Terai area, have started returning village by selling off their physical properties after motorway reaches the rural areas of the district. They have decided to return to their villages when transport service reached there so that they can earn up good chunk of income by cultivating cardamom and even vegetable farming in the barren steep land, which remained unsold in course of migrating to urban area.
Narayan Parajuli, who migrated to district headquarters Khandbari from Hedangna-4 some 12 years ago has recently sold his land yielding 20 muri paddy. He has also taken advance of the house he is residing now, said Parajuli. There is adequate uncultivated land of his own in the high hill and annual ten million can be easily generated by farming cardamom in the land, he said, adding he is planning to purchase some land in Hedangna and start business. Besides Parajuli, other 18 families migrated to headquarters Khandbari had returned village. Actual detail has not been received though there is increasing trend to return villages from the migrated place. RSS
