Farmers of Pawati, Phask, Gairimudi, Sunkhani including other VDCs of Dailekh said they had raised their income level this year with the sale of orange. Ram Sharan Bhujel of Dolakha Pawati-7 sold out orange worth Rs. 40,000 while Bir Bahadur Bhujel gained an income of Rs. 60,000 from the sale of orange this year. Besides Bhujel duo, orange farmers of Pawati have received a return in the range of Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 150,000 from orange farming.
Raghunath Uprety of Pawati-5 has recorded an income of Rs. 150,000 from orange sale this year alone. 'I have already made an income of Rs. 150,000 this season; still there is a stock for sale', Uprety said, adding that, 'There is no difficulty to promote market since traders flock to garden themselves'. According to Chief of District Agriculture Office, Tanka Bahadur Karki, more than 300 farmers of the district have been commercially engaged in orange farming. (RSS )
